Join CAN as a Regional Ambassador!
CAN Regional Ambassadors are participants interested in a leadership position in their local region. A CAN Regional Ambassador’s primary role is to help promote the importance of the CDA as part of a unifying framework, share best practices related to their work in the ECE industry, and encourage the use of the resources developed by the Council.
CAN Regional Ambassadors encompass early childhood professionals interested in a leadership position in their local region. A CAN Regional Ambassador’s primary role is to help promote the importance of the CDA as part of a unifying framework, share best practices related to their work in the ECE field, and encourage the use of the resources developed by the Council.
We are looking for participants who meet the following criteria:
- Leaders or Emerging Leaders in the ECE field
- Highly active and engaged community participants
- Individuals who identify with the Council & CAN Mission
- Emerging ECE Advocates
- Individuals who are excited about the ECE field and want to uplift their fellow peers
Recruitment Efforts
- Apply now section on community platform
- Info section on Alumni Website with apply now link
- Invite highly engaged community participants in identified needed regions
- Outreach to current council partners and PDS/Gold Standard Trainers
Tenure
- Ambassadorships are evaluated every 2 years
- Current ambassadors are invited to extend their role for another 2 years based on evaluation
- The max number of years as an ambassador is 4 years
- Can be extended if we cannot find another person to replace that ambassador
- We want opportunities for other people to become ambassadors
Cycles
- Accept applications annually April-August
- Approvals should be completed by September
- Training begins October to get new ambassadors ready by the new year
- Invitations are sent out on a rolling basis
- On an as need basis
- Approvals should be made one month after receiving the application to begin training and ambassador participation

Here are the minimum requirements and guidance for engagement:
